Ill Krop thumbnail
Ill Krop Fun punk covers of resistance anthems to jam at the bar after the branch meeting. Good when you need a pick-me-up while making a picket sign, best with comrades for gang vocals. Favorite track: The World Turned Upside Down.

We're all human so therefore We must eat before we can think Fine words are only empty air If we have no food or drink So left, right, left Then left, right, left There's a place comrade for you March with us in the workers' united front 'Cause we're all humans too We're all human so therefore We'd rather not be trampled under foot We want no master over us And no slave under our boot So left, right, left Then left, right, left There's a place comrade for you March with us in the workers' united front 'Cause we're all humans too We're all workers so therefore No class can free us but our own The emancipation of the working class Is the task of the workers alone So left, right, left Then left, right, left There's a place comrade for you March with us in the workers' united front 'Cause we're all workers too

We have fed you all for a thousand years And you hail us still unfed Though there's never a dollar of all your wealth But marks the workers dead We have yielded our best to give you rest And you lie on crimson wool But if blood be the price of all your wealth Then good god we have paid in full There is never a mine blown skyward now But we're buried alive for you There's never a wreck drifts shoreward now But we are its ghastly crew Go reckon our dead by the forges red And the factories where we spin If blood be the price of your cursed wealth Then good god we have paid it in We have fed you all for a thousand years For that was our doom, you know From the days when you chained us in your fields To the strike a week ago You have taken our lives, and our husbands and wives And we're told it's your legal share But if blood be the price of your lawful wealth Then good god we bought it fair.

The Red Flag 02:03
The people's flag is deepest red It shrouded oft our martyred dead And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold Their hearts' blood dyed its every fold Then raise the scarlet standard high Within its shade we live and die Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer We'll keep the red flag flying here Look round, the Frenchman loves its blaze The sturdy German chants its praise In Moscow's vaults its hymns were sung Chicago swells the surging throng Then raise the scarlet standard high Within its shade we live and die Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer We'll keep the red flag flying here It waved above our infant might When all ahead seemed dark as night It witnessed many a deed and vow We must not change its colour now Then raise the scarlet standard high Within its shade we live and die Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer We'll keep the red flag flying here It well recalls the triumphs past It gives the hope of peace at last The banner bright, the symbol plain Of human right and human gain Then raise the scarlet standard high. Within its shade we live and die Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer We'll keep the red flag flying here With head uncovered swear we all To bear it onward till we fall Come dungeons dark or gallows grim This song shall be our parting hymn Then raise the scarlet standard high Within its shade we live and die Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer We'll keep the red flag flying here

I ain't got no home, I'm just a-roamin' 'round, Just a wandrin' worker, I go from town to town. And the police make it hard wherever I may go And I ain't got no home in this world anymore. My brothers and my sisters are stranded on this road, A hot and dusty road that a million feet have trod; Rich man took my home and drove me from my door And I ain't got no home in this world anymore. I mined in your mines and I gathered in your corn I been working, mister, since the day I was born Now I worry all the time like I never did before 'Cause I ain't got no home in this world anymore Now as I look around, it's mighty plain to see This world is such a great and a funny place to be; Oh, the bosses they are rich an' the workers they are poor, And I ain't got no home in this world anymore.

In 1649 to St. George's Hill A ragged band they called the Diggers came to show the people's will They defied the landlords, they defied the laws They were the dispossessed reclaiming what was theirs. We come in peace, they said, to dig and sow We come to work the lands in common and make the wastelands grow This earth divided we will make whole So it may be a common treasury for all The sin of property we do disdain No one has any right to buy or sell the earth for private gain By theft and murder they took the land Now everywhere the walls rise up at their command They make the laws to chain us well The clergy dazzle us with heaven, or they damn us into hell We will not worship the God they serve, The God of greed who feeds the rich while poor folk starve We work and eat together, we need no swords We will not bow to masters, nor pay rent to the lords We are free folk, though we be poor Ye Diggers all, stand up for glory, stand up now! From the men of property the orders came They sent the hired men and troopers to wipe out the Diggers' claim Tear down their cottages, destroy their corn They were dispersed - only their vision lingers on You poor take courage, you rich take care This earth was made a common treasury for everyone to share All things in common, all people one We came in peace - the order came to cut us down

Long-haired preachers come out every night Try to tell you what's wrong and what's right But when asked how about something to eat They will answer in voices so sweet You will eat, bye and bye In that glorious land in the sky Work and pray, live on hay You'll get pie in the sky when you die And the Starvation Army, they play And they clap and they sing and they pray Till they get all your money on their drum That's when they'll tell you that you're a fucking bum You will eat, bye and bye In that glorious land in the sky Work and pray, live on hay You'll get pie in the sky when you die Working-folk from all countries, unite Side by side we for freedom will fight When the world and its wealth we have gained To the grafters we'll sing this refrain We will eat, bye and bye When we've learned how to cook and how to fry Chop some wood, it'll do us good And we'll eat in that sweet bye and bye

Would you have freedom from Wage slavery, Then join in the grand Industrial band; Would you from mis'ry and hunger be free, Then come, do your share, like a man. There is pow'r there is pow'r in a band of working-folk, When they stand hand in hand, That's a pow'r, that's a pow'r That must rule in every land— One Industrial Union Grand. Would you have mansions of gold in the sky, and live in a shack, somewhere in the back? Would you have wings up in heaven to fly, And starve here with rags on your back? There is pow'r there is pow'r in a band of working-folk, When they stand hand in hand, That's a pow'r, that's a pow'r That must rule in every land— One Industrial Union Grand. If you like sluggers to beat off your head, Then don't organize, all unions despise. If you want nothing before you are dead, Shake hands with your boss and look wise. There is pow'r there is pow'r in a band of working-folk, When they stand hand in hand, That's a pow'r, that's a pow'r That must rule in every land— One Industrial Union Grand. Come, all ye workers, from every land, Come, join the grand industrial band; Then we our share of this earth shall demand. Come on! Do your share, lend a hand. There is pow'r there is pow'r in a band of working-folk, When they stand hand in hand, That's a pow'r, that's a pow'r That must rule in every land— One Industrial Union Grand. There is pow'r there is pow'r in a band of working-folk, When they stand hand in hand, That's a pow'r, that's a pow'r That must rule in every land— One Industrial Union Grand.

If I had a hammer I'd hammer in the morning I'd hammer in the evening All over this land I'd hammer out danger I'd hammer out a warning I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land If I had a bell I'd ring it in the morning I'd ring it in the evening All over this land I'd ring out danger I'd ring out a warning I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land If I had a song I'd sing it in the morning I'd sing it in the evening All over this land I'd sing out danger I'd sing out a warning I'd sing out love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land Well I've got a hammer And I've got a bell And I've got a song to sing All over this land It's the hammer of justice It's the bell of freedom It's the song about love between my brothers and my sisters All over this land

There are women of many descriptions In this cruel world, as everyone knows, Some are living in beautiful mansions, And are wearing the finest of clothes. There's blue blooded queen and princess, Who have charms made of diamonds and pearl; But the only true to herself lady Is the Rebel Girl. She's the Rebel Girl, the Rebel Girl. She's the working class strength of this world From Maine to Georgia you'll see Her fighting for you and for me And I'm proud to fight for freedom With a Rebel Girl. Yes, her hands may be harden'd from labor And her clothes may not be very fine; But a heart in her bosom is beating That is true to her class all the time. And the bosses know that they can't change That she'd die to defend the workers' world. For the only true to herself lady Is the Rebel Girl. She's the Rebel Girl, the Rebel Girl. She's the working class strength of this world From Maine to Georgia you'll see Her fighting for you and for me And I'm proud to fight for freedom With a Rebel Girl.

As we go marching, marching, in the beauty of the day, A million darkened kitchens, a thousand mill lofts gray, Are brightened by the beauty that a sudden sun discloses, For the people hear are singing: Bread and Roses! Bread and Roses! As we go marching, marching, we battle too for men, For they are in this struggle and together we can win. Our lives shall not be sweated from birth until life closes; Hearts can starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses. As we go marching, marching, unnumbered women dead Are crying through our singing their ancient call for bread. Small art and love and beauty their drudging spirits knew. Yes, it is bread we fight for, but we fight for roses too. As we go marching, marching, we are standing proud and tall, The rising of the women means the rising of us all. No more the drudge and idler, ten that toil where one reposes, But a sharing of life's glories: Bread and roses, bread and roses.

Joe Hill 01:37
I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, alive as you and me. Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead" "I never died" said he, "I never died" said he. "In Salt Lake City, Joe," says I, Him standing by my bed, "They framed you on a murder charge," Says Joe, "But I ain't dead," Says Joe, "But I ain't dead." "The Copper Bosses killed you Joe, they shot you Joe" they filled you full of lead. "Takes more than guns to kill someone" Says Joe "I didn't die" Says Joe "I didn't die" And standing there as big as life and smiling with his eyes. Says Joe "What they can never kill went on to organize, went on to organize" From San Diego up to Maine, in every mine and mill, Where working men strike and organize, it's there you'll find Joe Hill, it's there you'll find Joe Hill! I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, alive as you and me. Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead" "I never died" said he, "I never died" said he.

Arise ye workers from your slumbers Arise ye prisoners of want For reason in revolt now thunders And at last ends the age of cant. Away with all your superstitions Servile masses arise, arise We'll change henceforth the old traditions And spurn the dust to win the prize. So comrades, come rally And the last fight let us face The Internationale unites the human race. So comrades, come rally And the last fight let us face The Internationale unites the human race. No more deluded by reaction On tyrants only we'll make war The soldiers too will take strike action They'll break ranks and fight no more And if those cannibals keep trying To sacrifice us to their pride They soon shall hear the bullets flying We'll shoot the generals on our own side. No saviour from on high delivers No faith have we in prince or peer Our own right hand the chains must shiver Chains of hatred, greed and fear E'er the thieves will give up their booty And give to all a happier lot. Each at the forge must do their duty And we'll strike while the iron is hot.
